How do you see yourself? How do other people see you? Do others’ perceptions change how you see yourself? Should it? My ongoing practical project, Vermillion, explores one woman's relationship with self-image and how those around her impact it. The research answers the question: How can the complexities of identity and self-image be explored in an animatic? This paper will explain the project and coexisting research for Vermillion through the framework of Robin Nelson’s idea of Practice as Research (PaR).
