(in)Visibility in Vermillion

A rough pass at the introduction!

This week, I met with all three members of my thesis committee. Overall, I'm proud of this work so far! I will revisit this animatic in the context of the larger project. The color choices and current look were done for class purposes. I'm interested in changing some of the layout for the backpack and the face reveal. I need the audience to understand the connection between the colored pens and the people on the bus. Those two parts are probably the weakest from a cinematographic standpoint.

A major update: I finally invested in a drawing tablet with a screen! It will really speed up the drawing process.

I also wrote a really long research paper on this very project. Read it below! It covers this animatic from a research perspective. Practice as Research (PaR) is an academic conceptual framework that positions practical projects as forms of research. A literature review, methodology section, art review, documentation, and the conceptual background from the project are all included in this paper. To take an in-depth look at the thought behind the project, click the button below. But beware, it’s 26 pages! This blog post is titled (in)Visibility in Vermillion to highlight the conceptual framework behind the whole project… You will understand this if you read the paper below.
